- APPLE'S NEXT SMARTPHONE will reportedly feature an all-glass design as the firm looks to cash in on expensive repairs.That's not the main reason, though, according to a research note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.He claims that iPhone 8's all-glass casing will facilitate high-speed wireless charging, with metal designs, like that of the current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, prone to wireless frequency issues that can limit the speed at which charging can take place.
