The average iPhone user installed just 33 apps in 2016, compared with an average of 35 apps in 2015. The average US iPhone user spent $40 in 2016, up 14% from an average of $35 in 2015. Overall, global gross app revenue will double to reach $102 billion by 2020, according to recent projections by App Annie.
