Apple Buys Workflow Productivity App for iPhone, iPad quoting : "Fortune"

as mentioned in TechCrunch has just reported and confirmed that Apple has purchased mobile app Workflow for an undisclosed sum. But Apple is not only going to keep Workflow in the App Store, TechCrunch notes that the app will be made free later today — it used to cost $2.99. The big question now is whether some of the capabilities — or the philosophies — in the Workflow app could work their way into iOS itself. Since then, Workflow has been regularly updated with support for things like the iOS Notification Center and the Apple Watch. It's the closest thing iOS has to the customization options you get on a full desktop OS like Mac or Windows, and now it's owned by Apple.

Apple Buys Workflow Productivity App for iPhone, iPad
The technology giant bought the popular Workflow app and its small team of four employees, TechCrunch reported late Wednesday evening. Apple has a new app in its iOS arsenal that it just made free for its users. People can use the app to essentially create shortcuts and automate tasks across the various apps that might be installed on iphone or iPad. Although the app used to cost $2.99, Apple ( aapl ) said it will now be free to download. Workflow has been a hit with iOS users since it debuted in 2014.
