iPhone 9: New Apple handset could support multiple SIM cards, latest iOS update suggests

according to The next iPhone could have the option to have two SIM cards, according to leaked code. Clues suggesting that the new handset will include the feature have been found in the latest update to Apple's beta operating system. Support for a second SIM card has been long-rumoured for the iPhone, but has never arrived. Last year, for instance, firmware for the HomePod speaker accidentally spoiled the look of the iPhone X as well as a whole host of features that were found inside. The line-up is rumoured to include three phones: an update to the iPhone X, an iPhone X Plus that will include all of the same features in a bigger design, and a cheaper handset that will lie somewhere in the middle and miss out on some of the key upgrades.

Logic would suggest these are arranged by price with the A19 referring to the new 6.1-inch budget iPhone X (details), the A20 being the second generation 5.8-inch iPhone X (details) and A21 the massive 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus (details), we can't say for sure as they may be ordered by size. Moreover, the budget iPhone X will also offer a bezel-less design and potentially for less money than an iPhone 8. That means Apple will package the new iPhone X handsets with a USB-C to lightning charging cable. Perhaps surprisingly the lower-priced iPhone 8 topped the global sales, while the flagship iPhone X only managed third place. As for the iPhone X, it accounted for 2.3 percent of the global smartphone sale marketshare – making it the third best-selling smartphone during May of 2018.
