New iPhone Leak Reveals Apple's Biggest Upgrades

Let's break them down:#1 – Colourful Past, Colourful FutureKuo states Apple will return to its iPhone 5C strategy this year by releasing a 'budget iPhone X' model in multiple colours. Consistently reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @Onleaks) adds to Kuo's report saying Apple is also considering yellow and pink. Kuo's report says Apple will introduce dual-sim dual-standby (DSDS) functionality for the iPhone X Plus (no word on other models) allowing users to run two networks simultaneously. Kuo believes Apple will price the iPhone X Plus at the original iPhone X price of just under $1,000 (assume $999), with the second generation iPhone X sitting below it, while the budget iPhone X will be just $700. Given the budget iPhone X (my guess is it will simply be called 'iPhone' like the entry level 'MacBook' and 'iPad') will sport an (almost) identical design to its premium stablemates, a $300 saving should have widespread appeal.

Apple's Screen Time feature proves you're addicted to your iPhone

It includes a suite of features designed to track your phone usage and help you cut down on screen time. But the central feature is Screen Time. It shows how many notifications you receive and how often you pick up your phone (I grab mine every six minutes). As for me, Screen Time tells me I pick up my iPhone X a whopping 75 times a day. If you want to do more, weed out the apps you're most likely to waste time on (Goodbye, Twitter!

Apple's Budget iPhone X Has An Unavoidable Design Compromise

As it stated in In short, despite copying the so-called 'bezel-less' design of the more expensive second-generation iPhone X (details) and new iPhone X Plus (details), Apple's new budget iPhone X will have noticeably thicker bezels. In order to make the budget iPhone X so affordable, Apple is fitting it with an LCD panel rather than the more expensive OLED panels in the gen two iPhone X and iPhone X Plus. At its worst, you'll see that when modelled by Mac Otakara (below) the budget iPhone X (which I expect will simply be named 'iPhone' like the entry level 'iPad' and 'MacBook') looks cumbersome and almost like a toy version of the other two. I personally believe consumers should be able to overlook this and the other compromises the budget iPhone X makes because of how it keeps the price down. Then again, buyers of these new premium iPhones won't have a risk-free purchase either…___Follow Gordon on Twitter, Facebook and Google+More On ForbesiPhone Exclusive: Apple's Massive, Cheap iPhone RevealedApple Takes A Sizeable Risk With New iPhone XiPhone Exclusive: Apple's Radical Design 'Confirmed'Apple Report Reveals New iPhone Specs, PricesApple's Large, Cheap iPhone Gets Shown Off

Last year's new iPhone mix of the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X include the first OLED-equipped iPhone (in the shape of the X) and two LCD based units (the iPhone 8 family). …the much praised 'bezel-less' design of the iPhone X (middle) and the massive 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus (right) will not carry over to the cheaper design (left). Now that more details of the iPhone portfolio have been backed up, there's no sign of the iPhone X SE. Instead, the 5.8-inch iPhone X will be complemented by a 6.1-inch budget-friendly iPhone X and 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus. This backs multiple leaks, including my exclusive last month that Apple had decided to drop plans for the so-called iPhone X Mini.
