as declared in You must have good Karma :)TSMC relying on 2018 iPhone to improve financials after bad quarter By Stephen Silver Thursday, July 19, 2018, 07:11 am PT (10:11 am ET)Chip manufacturer and Apple partner now says sales will grow by "a high single-digit percentage" this year, rather than 10 percent. And with Apple TSMC's most important customer, this fall's iPhones will mark a crucial test. The company, which is Taiwan's largest, is counting on iPhone demand to help offset waning demand for the sort of chips used to mine cryptocurrency. In January, TSMC reportedly reached a deal to provide all of the "A12" chips for the 2018 iPhone line. At the same time, the company is predicting revenue of between $8.45 billion and $8.55 billion in the current quarter, down from the previously projected $8.68 billion.

They reportedly show the glass front panels, which cover the displays, for all three models: the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED models, with the 6.1-inch LCD model in the middle …If real, they provide our first real-life look at one key element of this year's line-up: a lower-cost LCD model which closely resembles the iPhone X design. We've already seen renders which give a sense of how the thicker bezels might look on the LCD model, but this photo purportedly shows the real thing. As we've said before, the difference in bezel thickness is definitely visible when compared side-by-side like this, but it's likely that many customers will be very happy with something close to the iPhone X design at a substantially lower price. We've heard various estimates of the likely starting price of the LCD model, from $7-800 at the high end down to as little as $550. Good enough, or would you be tempted to pay more for an OLED model to get slimmer ones?
