Since Foxconn is currently producing the Xiaomi phones at this factory, the company is plannign a new $356 million iPhone production that will create about 25,000 jobs. Apple Expected To Fight iPhone Christmas Problems
Even if sales of the iOS handsets are falling below Apple's expectations, there's still a lot of activations, app downloads, and software updates to process. Last year, Apple's iPhone was the leading device to be activated over the holidays, with a 44 percent share of the market. However, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6 actually took the top two spots in terms of Apple activations, at 15.1 percent and 14.9 percent, respectively. In previous years, iPhone activations have been slow due to significant volumes. You might even want to wait until Apple fixes the 4G problems plaguing iPhone users around the world that is restricting many to wi-fi for internet connectivity in iOS 12.1.2.
