Apple Leak Reveals New Samsung Technology In iPhones

as declared in Apple approved more than 25,000 government requests to access customer data in the first half of 2018, according to its own figures. The iPhone maker's latest Transparency Report reveals it received 32,342 demands from governments around the world to access 163,823 devices, with 80 per cent of the requests granted. Apple said in its report that the high volume of device requests from Germany was "predominantly due to stolen devices investigations". In the UK, Apple received 572 requests for 2,606 devices, of which 77 per cent were approved. "Apple is committed to your privacy and being transparent about government requests for customer data globally," the report stated.

Apple said last week that it would pull the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 models from its 15 retail stores in Germany while it appealed an unfavorable court ruling, Reuters reported. A judge in Germany ruled Dec. 20 that iPhones with a chip from Apple supplier Qorvo violate a patent by chipmaker and longtime Apple supplier Qualcomm. Apple said it planned to appeal the decision, but would pull the iPhones 7 and 8 from Apple stores in Germany while it did so. Earlier in December, a China court granted Qualcomm an injunction against Apple, banning the sale and import of most iPhone models in China. Apple immediately appealed the ban and said all iPhone models remained available for Chinese customers.
