Apple Warned iPhones Have An Innovation Problem

referring to Gartner states that Apple sold 64M iPhones, down nine million on Q4 2017. Today Fast Company illustrated Gartner's point with the publication of its popular annual rankings for the world's most innovative companies. Speaking to Reuters, Qualcomm said it is now pursuing a ban on iPhone sales in the US due to patent infringements. "Apple asked the full commission to delay any possible import ban by that long if the commission reverses the judge's decisions."While all three developments highlight a reduction in Apple's iPhone innovation, it is hard to see any immediate response. Needless to say, there's a lot of love about Apple's sleek ecosystem across Macs, MacBooks, iPads and iPhones.

The most trusted source of Apple rumors says 2019 iPhones will have these features

Tech reporters never fully trust a rumor, but some rumors have more credibility than others — and few have a track record for pegging Apple releases like analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who first revealed the screen sizes and features of last year's iPhones, among other things. Like, perhaps, AirPods earbuds with wireless charging — since Kuo says those, as well as the long-awaited AirPower wireless charging mat, will ship in the first half of 2019. Unfortunately, Kuo says the phones are sticking with proprietary Lightning connectors for traditional charging and data, instead of adopting the USB-C standard. USB-C currently allows for faster wired charging than Lightning. And that's just what Kuo is predicting on the mobile front.

Software pirates use Apple tech to put hacked apps on iPhones

as declared in SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Software pirates have hijacked technology designed by Apple Inc to distribute hacked versions of Spotify, Angry Birds, Pokemon Go, Minecraft and other popular apps on iPhones, Reuters has found. "Developers that abuse our enterprise certificates are in violation of the Apple Developer Enterprise Program Agreement and will have their certificates terminated, and if appropriate, they will be removed from our Developer Program completely," an Apple spokesperson told Reuters. They are the centerpiece of Apple's program for corporate apps and enable consumers to install apps onto iPhones without Apple's knowledge. Apple last month briefly banned Facebook Inc and Alphabet Inc from using enterprise certificates after they used them to distribute data-gathering apps to consumers. The misuse of the enterprise certificates seen by Reuters does not rely on jailbreaking and can be used on unmodified iPhones.

Apple reportedly testing new iPhones with three rear cameras and a USB-C port

Apple is planning to release an iPhone that has three rear cameras in 2019, according to a new report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The company's current top-of-the-line iPhones, the XS and XS Max, have two cameras on the back, one being a portrait lens. Apple is set to join them with the successor to the XS Max, according to Gurman, with the newest camera capturing a wider field of view. The company is said to be testing "versions" of the 2019 iPhone lineup that use USB-C ports instead of the company's own Lightning connector. Gurman doesn't say that Apple is definitively planning to make the switch, but the tests at least show they're seriously considering it.
