Apple may have quietly begun to cut iPhone prices, but a new report sends a serious warning about the iPhone XS (details), iPhone XS Max (details) and iPhone XR (details)... For Black Friday, Apple only gave away gift vouchers worth up to $50 if you paid full price for older generation hardware. As such the road ahead looks set to have significant financial consequences for Apple and equally significant financial upsides for customers. As such, Apple now looks to be stuck in a price war with itself and that's a situation which was unthinkable just a few years ago. iPhone XS Vs iPhone XR: What's The Difference?
New iPhone Price Cut Is Another Alarming Warning Sign
Carriers and retailers have cut the price of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max in China. Apple has said that currency fluctuations would see some local price changes, but the reductions of $150 on the iPhone XS and $300 on the iPhone XS Max are far larger than any changes in the yuan on the forex markets. For me, this is a direct response to iPhone sales falling twice as fast as the equivalent premium smartphones from other manufacturers. This was also the equivalent of an 'S' year for the iPhone range - the designs of the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, all followed last year's iPhone X design. Naturally the iPhone does, but so does every handset.
